Happy 4th and All That Jazz

1) A prayer request: my grandfather is in the hospital, again. Yes, this is the same grandfather who has lung cancer, etc. After 3 days in extreme pain (he went to the ER, but they couldn't figure out what was wrong with him), doctors finally realized he had some sort of intestinal blockage that was the result of scar tissue from a previous colon surgery, when he had polyps. (My mom had a similar blockage several years ago, when I was in third grade. To this day I don't know my 7s and 8s multiplication facts because she was the one teaching them to me before she was in the hospital. No fault of my dad's; I just got stubborn and wouldn't listen to anyone but Mommers teaching me!) Anyway, the chemo drugs made the surgery super-risky, so Poppop couldn't get his intestines stitched back together yet. He has to have an eliostomy (spelling?) bag until the doctors think it's safe to operate on him again. He's doing a little bit better, but not by much. Please pray for his healing and for the doctors' wisdom in treating him! Oh, and also for my extended family, because all of this is putting a lot of additional stress on everyone.

2) I will be away for two weeks, so probably no posting. Tomorrow I am leaving for my missions camp with youth group!!!! SOOOO excited!!!! Then, the day after I get home from THAT, my family is going on vacation. Whee!
